Did you trial the C-Pen Exam Reader initially, if so, what “review process” did you follow and what conclusions did you draw?
We trialed it for the trial period during Year 10 exams and it was very successful.
What do you most like about the C-Pen Exam Reader?
The students can have personalised help and liked the fact that they did not have to ask or put their hands up. It was also ‘instant access’ to the information they required.
Please describe how you are using the C-Pen Exam Reader?
It is being used to support KS4 students with their GCSE exams. They have access to these pens during the school day too to help them to learn to use them properly.
Please describe how the use of the C-Pen Exam Reader has affected your students?
Performance: Quick and easy to use
Confidence: Students quick to grasp technology and were excited by it
Independence: they really appreciated not having to ask others for help and the anonymity of having the pen over having to be seen to ask for help or wait for it to be given.
Please describe any other areas in school you feel the C-Pen Exam Reader has helped?
It will save on having to employ a team of readers for examinations and helps with reading during lesson times too
How likely are you to recommend the C-Pen Exam Reader to others?
We are very likely to recommend this product to others and have already done so. We have showcased them during Staff Training and meetings with Outside agencies and they have been used to demonstrate methods of learning support for the teaching of additional needs to Psychology A level students.
